Hydrosol is like a cousin to essential oil. When plants are steam distilled to extract essential oils, the process also produces a liquid byproduct called hydrosol. It’s like a gentle, diluted version of the plant’s essence. Hydrosol is safe to be used on newborn baby’s delicate skin. Unlike essential oils, hydrosol is safe for direct use by spraying it directly onto face, wounded skin and inflamed skin. Other common names for Hydrosol is “Floral Water” and “Botanical Mist’.
As skincare, hydrosol is used to hydrate, calm, soothe, tone and balance skin.
Other uses of hydrosols: Soothe eczema, acne, dry skin, bruises, minor cuts, insect bites, skin irritation and minor bumps.
